Seminar and Field Study PBSI UNJ x Diksasindo UB: Strategies for Enhancing Achievement to Develop Outstanding Students

On Thursday, May 30, 2024, students from Universitas Negeri Jakarta (UNJ) conducted a study visit to Brawijaya University, Malang. This activity aimed to strengthen the relationship between the two institutions and expand the academic horizons and networks of the students. The event was attended by the 2021 cohort of UNJ students.

The seminar and field study featured several speakers from the Faculty of Cultural Studies (FIB) at Brawijaya University. The first speaker, Dr. Aji Setyanto, S.S., M.LITT, discussed student affairs, followed by Mr. Maulfi Rizal, S.Pd., M.Pd., who talked about the profile of the Diksasindo program. Each presentation included a Q&A session and discussions related to the topics presented. These sessions aimed to provide the PBSI UNJ participants with broader insights.

In addition to broadening the students’ knowledge, this event was intended as a first step toward collaboration and strengthening the relationship between the universities. The UNJ students participated enthusiastically, expressing many hopes for the continuation of this connection. “Success, Longlasting, Family” are the three words UNJ students used to describe the relationship between Universitas Negeri Jakarta and Brawijaya University.

READING BOOTH: OPENING THE DOORS TO CHILDREN’S IMAGINATION AND KNOWLEDGE

The Reading Booth is one of the programs organized by the Diksasindo Teaching Unit of the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Student Association (Himaprodi) 2024. This Reading Booth aims to enhance the culture of reading, collaboration, and communication with reading communities around Malang, as well as with Diksasindo students and the surrounding community. By participating in the Reading Booth activities, it is hoped that it will hone and develop the community’s reading interests, which can be beneficial for their lives.

The Reading Booth is a group reading activity primarily targeting children. Through this activity, Diksasindo Teaching provides a variety of reading materials in collaboration with Ruang Baca Aqil. The Reading Booth activities include not only reading sessions but also storytelling, playing games, quizzes or interesting challenges, puppet shows, and singing together. This initiative aims to improve early literacy and instill a love for books from a young age.

The Reading Booth will be held in three sessions. Each session will take place at Malang City Square. The first session will be on May 13, 2024, the second session on May 18, 2024, and the third session on May 25, 2024
