The Department of Language Education carries out brainstorming between students and representatives of the Association of Language Education Departments. This Brainstorming activity was attended by each study program in the Department of Language Education, Faculty of Cultural Sciences. The study programs include Indonesian Language and Literature Education, English Language Education, and Japanese Language Education. This activity was moderated by the secretary of the language education department, namely Maulfi Syaiful Rizal, M.Pd and the speakers from each head of the study program, namely Mrs. Dr. Ive Emaliana, M.Pd. as the Head of the English Education Study Program, Mrs. Ulfah Sutiyarti, M.Pd. as the head of the Japanese Language Education study program, and Mr. Nanang Bustanul Fauzi, M.Pd. as the head of the Indonesian Language and Literature Education study program. Meanwhile, student representatives are represented by representatives of Himaprodi and representatives of each generation from each study program.
Issues discussed in this Brainstorming discussion included the accreditation of each study program, facilities and infrastructure in the FCS B building, the policies of the lecturers from each study program, and the underappreciated achievements of FCS students. Simultaneously, representatives from each study program agreed that the existing infrastructure in the faculties, especially the language education department, was inadequate. Starting from the absence of access to special toilets for women and men, LCD screens in several classrooms that are not adequate, lecture benches that are not appropriate, air conditioning that often has problems, to inefficient prayer rooms.
All complaints submitted by each representative of the Study Program students are then discussed and given clarity by the heads of each study program. Sony Sukmawan, M.Pd as the Head of the Department also said that the academic community made maximum efforts to make the Department of Language Education even better. However, all of this will not be carried out properly if there is no good cooperation with students as active users of the facilities in the faculty.
The purpose of holding a Brainstorming activity between students and each head of the study program is to lead to a better institution. With this activity, it is hoped that there will be a good synergy between internal and external Department of Language Education, namely the relationship between students and lecturers in the Department of Language Education.
