The Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program, Universitas Brawijaya held a Poetry Theatrical Performance. This event was filled by Indonesian Language and Literature Education students class 2017. This theatrical performance started at 08.00 WIB and took place in the FIB Hall building B. The performance itself was open to the public and was free of charge for the audience. This event was opened by Maulfi Syaiful Rizal, M.Pd as the lecturer in charge of the poetry appreciation course.
This activity was carried out to take the practical value of the Poetry Appreciation course which was taught when the third semester Diksasindo students took place. This Poetry Theatrical Performance featured six performances, each of which was performed by Teater Pulang which performed the poem Orang Kecil Orang Besar by Gus Mus, Theater Laskar Saraswati which performed Mengatruh Solidaritas by Widji Tukul, Theater Abiyasa which performed the poem Nyai Dasimah by WS Rendra, Theater Apha performed the poem Reading Signs by Taufik Ismail, Teater Iyo A performed the poem Sajak Sebatang Lisong by WS Rendra, and Uhah Theater performed the poem Sajak Gadis and Majikan by WS Rendra.
For the performance brought by the Diksasindo students, they did a long rehearsal until finally the day of the poetry theatrical performance arrived. Theatrical poetry itself is a play accompanied by poetry readings and movements as well as performing roles. This staging activity aims to provide a real experience for Indonesian Language and Literature Education students in playing roles and presenting a theatrical performance of poetry.
