Himaprodi Indonesian Language and Literature Education together with UKM Mata Pena Universitas Brawijaya held the 2018 Language Month Literature Festival. This event was held for two days, on November 17 and 18. The first day was a series of competitions. The competitions that were held started from the essay competition for national students, theatrical competitions for students throughout East Java, national general poetry writing competitions for 15-30 years, and storytelling competitions for junior high schools throughout Malang Raya.
The highlight of the FSBB event was the workshop which was held the next day, on Sunday, November 18 2018. This year’s FSBB workshop invited a national writer, namely Leila S. Chudori, the author of the novel Laut Berkode and moderated by the lecturer of Indonesian Language and Literature Education, Mr. Moh. Fatoni. FSBB 2018 also invited the indie band Pagi Tadi in a series of workshops.
The peak night of the 2018 FSBB event began with remarks, then the theater performance, then entered the main event, namely a workshop with presenter Leila S. Chudori moderated by Muh. Fatoni and continued with a question and answer session, after that the performance of the indie band Pagi Tadi and continued with the announcement of the winners and the distribution of prizes for the 2018 FSBB competition which had been held the previous day. The FSBB event itself was held to commemorate Language Month.
